The conference began with the pre-conference workshop "Modelling Approaches for Bioelectrochemical systems" supported by the TRAMPOLINe- MSCA Doctoral Network. The workshop was designed for PhD students and early-career researchers and provided an opportunity to learn, discuss and exchange ideas on BES modelling.​ Several TRAMPOLINe- doctoral candidates attended the workshop and participated in the discussions. Benjamin Korth, from the TRAMPOLINe- network, also contributed with a talk, sharing his expertise and insights with the participants.

Throughout the conference, TRAMPOLINe- members presented their research through 3 oral presentations and seven posters, covering different aspects of microbial electrochemical technologies.

We are also very happy to share that Merijn Eken received the Best Poster Award for his work.

EU-ISMET 2026 was a valuable opportunity to share results, receive feedback and strengthen connections within the bioelectrochemistry community.
