Alice Gere

My name is Alice Gere, a Hungarian-Canadian researcher with a strong foundation in biochemistry and molecular biology. I completed my BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and have just obtained my MSc in Biology at the University of Szeged, Hungary. My research interests lie at the intersection of environmental sustainability, biotechnology, and genetic engineering. I’m especially excited about the DC6 project at ITQB NOVA because it brings together my passion for applied molecular science and my commitment to addressing environmental challenges.

Research keywords: Extracellular Electron Transfer (EET), Microbial desalination cells (MDCs), Genetic Engineering, Electroactive biofilms, Multiheme cytochromes.
